The Norwegian artist, Mari Persen´s new song, "Maria", has Portuguese lyrics, and is a slow contemplative Bossa Nova.  After living in  Brazil in 1995/96, she discovered and cherished Brazilian music and artists from the "golden age" of MPB and jazz - Tom Jobim, Jâo Gilberto, Quarteto Em Cy, Edu Lobo, Elis Regina,Toquinho among others. This is a song with great sorrow. A jazz ballade, simple but complex, simple vocals and piano, filled with strings and choir.
